Enhancing Assessment Literacy of Teachers in Primary/Secondary Schools
The Faculty of Education of the University of Hong Kong has been commissioned by the Education Bureau to launch the Quality Education Fund Thematic Network-Tertiary Institutes (QTN-T) support programme “Enhancing Assessment Literacy of Teachers in Primary/Secondary Schools” (2019-20, 2020-21, 2021-22, 2022-23).
This QTN-T support programme aims to enhance teachers’ assessment literacy in English language teaching. Different primary and secondary schools have been involved in the project and have gained insights into the design and implementation of different types of assessment through (1) attending professional development workshops; (2) collaborating with the project team in designing a package of English teaching and learning materials; and (3) adopting various e-learning tools to effectively facilitate learning, teaching and assessment, particularly assessment for learning (AfL) and assessment as learning (AaL).
